Magic in Aielus has existed for millenniums. There are two sources of magic in the world. One of them is from the Royal Stone.
Royal Stone: The Royal Stone was existed since the birth of humans on Aielus. It is the source of power for the Emperor and all of the deities. Before the meteorite had crashed onto the planet, the only people with magic were the Emperor/Empress and their deities. Together, they ruled on Noble Island (Sometimes called God's Island). While the kingdoms of Aielus grew across the land, they mostly fought with pure weaponry. The deities monitor each aspect of their domain, and only really stepped in the conflicts of the humans if the planet was at stake. The empire had decided that it would not interfere with Aielus and let it run its course. However, much changed when the meteorite crashed.
Meteorite: The Meteorite was a humongous source of magical energy. It was practically overwhelming at the time. At first, it was illegal for anyone outside of the empire to even touch the stone. However, as many pieces began getting stolen, and thus spread around Aielus, the Emperor at the time decided to let the world harness the powers of the meteorite. Thus, magic outside of the Empire was born. With the pieces of the meteorite spread far throughout the land, many people now began using magic. Because of the limitations of magic, it became a legal practice. At birth, the infants would be placed near a piece of a meteorite. The stone itself would fire an immense amount of energy into the infant. If the infant's DNA allowed it, they would become a magic user. What element they controlled depended on their DNA. Thus, mages were born.
How Magic Works in Aielus: Magic basically works like this. Once the meteorite shocks you with magic. You gain a set amount of magic you can use. Your body will slowly absorb energy as you use your magic and fall below your max about of energy. As you train and grow older, you can get a larger store for magic energy. As humans have adapted to the stone over many millenniums, it is safe to wield magic from the meteorite, to a certain extent. You cannot cast spells for long periods of time, as you will eventually run out of energy. You must then wait for your body to recharge.
The reason your body can recharge is because the meteor's magic radiates in the air. It enters you when you breathe, and through your skin pores. If you are at your limit, the magic simply will not enter you.
Stone Mages: Some people's DNA almost fully matches that of the Meteorite, allowing them to actually absorb a piece of the meteorite. These people are forbidden from using magic, as they are potentially very dangerous. Another reason is that while the human body can tolerate holding magical energy, it cannot directly absorb a stone's full power. Thus, the magical energy will not be able to fit inside, and will eventually eat away the body. The longer a stone stays into a Stone Mage's body, the harder it is to get out. In some cases, it is impossible to remove the stone, and the person is left until their body dies out.

Classes
Here's a list of basic classes of fighters in Aielus:
The way classes work, is that there's a general list of classes. However, they get broken down into smaller class groups
Bladiares: (Pronounced Blade-ee-ours) Most people just call them "Blades". The generalized class for those that wield any type of bladed weapon.
Subclasses of Bladiares:
Swordsman/Swordswoman: Wielders of a blade. Can either be knights or adventurers. Their general blades are medium length. Shield is optional, though most non-knights do not use a shield. Most of their combat ability comes in their swordsmanship, rather than magic.
Lancers: Those that wield a spear or a lance. Can either be knights or plain adventurers.
Shardes: Those that wield daggers or knives. Mostly thieves, ninjas, and the like.
Archers: Archers are also considered Bladiares, since arrows have bladed tips at the edges of them. They are long-ranged fighters. They wield a bow and arrow.
Elemental Bladists: These people are those who wield a weapon but also channel magic through it. They mostly focus on one element. They often use elemental slashes but can also swing their swords to fire magical projectiles at the enemy. As any blade user that uses magic can be fit under this class, they are usually called "Elemental (What weapon class they are)". For example, Leous, the main character, would be an Elemental Lancer.
Magiciose: (Pronounced Mah-gish-ee-ohs) Most people just call them "Magics".
Subclasses of Magiciose:
Elemental Mage: Users of magic who focus mostly on the basic elements. Such as Fire, Water, Ice, Earth, Wind. They usually dress in robes and wield staffs, orbs, spellbooks, and some unique weapons.
White Mage: Those who specialize in healing. Includes Seers, Monks, and the like. They can also wield offensive light magic.
Dark Mage: Those that use dark/shadow magic. Not all of them are considered evil, however. Though most of them are violent. They can cast curses and status effects.
Sound Mages: Those that use sound as their main source of magic. Chanteurs, are those that use their voice to cast spells. Instroms are those who use Instruments to cast magic. A lot of magic comes in the form of bubbly musical notes that actually inflict pain and damage when used offensively. But they can also use buffs and sometimes heal.
Stone Mages: These are mages who are unusually attuned to the magic stones. They can easily channel power throughout the mysterious stones and are often considered dangerous. They are a rarity, and are even considered illegal in some parts of the world, because of how dangerous they are. Most of them are discriminated against and often have to hide their identities.
Mystics: A Mystic is someone who wields an immense amount of magic. They're often considered legendary, and sometimes deities. There are no known subclasses of Mystics, as they are very rare. Though some characters such as Cerotusa and Musu are classified as Mystics. No one knows where they came from, or how they have become so powerful. Some of them, such as Musu, don't have full control over their magic, and often invoke magic unintentionally.
Cerotusa, however, does have full control over her magic. Though it is rumored she may not be from this planet, despite her human appearance.
One unique ability of Mystics is their ability to levitate or fly without wings. Most, if not all Mystics have this ability. (Musu and Cerotusa are no exceptions)

And that's all for classes. More information on the characters will come soon.

Welcome to the world of Aielus
Welcome to my blog! This is where I will attempt to create my own fantasy world. It's name is Aielus. While not much has been made. I look forward to posting frequent updates as I create Aielus.
